Sam is the founder and editor of PickleFinder.ca. After starting to play pickleball in summer 2025, it quickly became a regular game among his friends. He created PickleFinder to make it easier for players across Ontario to find courts and understand what to expect before arriving.
I created PickleFinder after repeatedly running into the same problem: finding a court online didn't necessarily tell me whether I could actually play pickleball there. I'd arrive at locations expecting pickleball courts only to find tennis courts without pickleball lines, missing nets, or information that wasn't clear beforehand. I wanted to build a simple, free resource that helps players know what they're getting before they leave home. Whether someone is playing for the first time or competing regularly, PickleFinder is designed to help them compare things like indoor versus outdoor courts, free versus paid access, court availability, rentals, open play and other useful details.

What PickleFinder does
PickleFinder organizes Ontario pickleball listings by city, region, court type, and useful playing intent. The site helps users compare addresses, directions, indoor or outdoor status, court count when available, open-play notes, cost signals, official source links, and nearby pages. It is designed for players, not just search engines.
What PickleFinder does not do
The site does not claim to show live court occupancy, guaranteed hours, or every facility schedule. Court access can change because of weather, municipal programming, leagues, rentals, repairs, closures, and seasonal rules. Users should confirm official details before visiting.
How the site stays useful
The directory uses cautious wording when details are missing. It links to official sources where available and invites players or facilities to submit corrections. Editorial content, guides, and trust pages are added to make the site a useful Ontario pickleball resource rather than a thin generated directory.
Trust and quality notes
PickleFinder is designed to be useful even when a listing is incomplete. When a court count, schedule, fee, surface, or open-play detail is not confirmed, the safer choice is to say that the detail is not listed and point users to the official source. That prevents the site from becoming a directory of guesses.
The site also separates directory usefulness from advertising. Ads, sponsorships, or affiliate links should not create fake editorial claims. Users should be able to tell when something is sponsored and should still have access to practical court information, corrections, guides, and official source links.
Because pickleball access changes often, users should treat PickleFinder as a planning tool. Before making a trip, confirm the details with the facility, municipality, club, or official booking source.
